Genesis 8:21
The Lord smelled the pleasing aroma and said in his heart: "Never again will I curse the ground because of man, even though every inclination of his heart is evil from childhood. And never again will I destroy all living creatures, as I have done.
God could've continued with what He was doing and wiped out mankind when we became too evil or wicked. In our society now it probably is just as bad as back then... yet God because of His everlasting love for His creation decides to grant us grace and mercy by blessing us with life. It's life that we often take for granted.
Back then it was physical sacrifices that they were called to do. Today Jesus has taken up that role as the ultimate sacrifice so that our sins today and tomorrow are forgiven. However, personal sacrifices and fasting should still be done as a way to honour God.
Lent is happening right now and I've decided to fast on Instagram as a way to honour my time for more important things and also more time with the Lord. My hope for myself is that it will go beyond Instagram in the future to fasting on bigger things that may be hindering my growth in the Lord.

Genesis 7
Noah follows the Lord's commands, and the Lord is faithful and good to him.
A humble heart that yearns for the Lord like Noah is something that I need to work on. It is a blessing that He continues to lavish so much love and grace upon me when I constantly need Him to pull me out of temptations and distractions of the world and flesh.
May my prayer always be for my heart align with God's, so that I can be a light, a disciple, and a bold woman of God wherever I am.
