God's Faithfulness: Romans 3:1-8

I had a hard time undertanding this section. Had to do a bit of research in order for me to grasp what the lesson is.
Romans 3:1-2
What advantage, then, is there in being a Jew, or what value is there in circumcision? Much in every way! First of all, they have been entrusted with the very words of God.
- What advantages do we get from being Christian? Paul tells us that we would be given the words of God. We can access all of it directly through the Bible, the Holy Word...what God wants or doesn't want us to do, the life lessons that He teaches us, the story of his Son, the warnings of what is to come. It's all from His mouth written on paper.
Romans 3:3-4
What if some did not have faith? Will their lack of faith nullify God's faithfulness? Not at all! Let God be true, and every man a liar. As it is written: "So that you may be proved right when you speak and prevail when you judge."
- God is faithful and true no matter what. From my readings of other studies on this passage, one point that caught my attention was the ironic contrast seen in the passage describing a Jewish unbeliever. In the verse 2 it states that Christians (aka Jews back then) would be blessed with the very words of God. In contrast, seen in verse 3, some Jews don't have faith and we can extend that thought to them not believing in the words of God. Why do they consider themselves as a Jew in the first place then (it can relate to the hypocrite concept as well)?
*Note to self:
Context of Psalm 51:4 is that King David is asking for forgiveness for his sin of adultery with Bathsheba.
Psalm 51:4
Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight, so that you are proved right when you speak and justified when you judge.
- The quote in verse 4 comes from Psalm 51:4. Since we are all sinners here on earth, when God speaks or judges, it is always right and true. God will never be nullified, even for those who lack in faith and continue to go deeper into their sin. God is always there and when He speaks or judges upon us earthly beings, His words and judgment will always be correct and true.
Romans 3:7-8
Someone might argue, "If my falsehood enhances God's truthfulness and so increases his glory, why am I still condemned as a sinner?" Why not say-- as we are being slanderously reported as saying and as some claim that we say-- "Let us do evil that good may result"? Their condemnation is deserved.
- Why would anyone consider doing evil to bring good? Why not just do good to bring more good? This is an excuse for sinning and those who think this way do deserve God's punishment. From other studiess--which I agree with-- there are are other ways of showing or enhancing God's truthfulness. Lying (don't know how) may possibly help in showing God's glory but this act itself is still a sin and in no way it shouldn't be considered a sin.
Wow. So much stuff learned within these 8 verses. God is amazing. :)
