Idols can easily capture you into their spellbounding idea that they will make all things better without need of God. Sleep can give you rest. Academics can give you a bright future. A relationship can give you all the love you need. All of these things do not last... but the Lord alone can give you all the rest, a hope and a future, and the love of the best Father you can ever have. Whatever the Lord gives is eternal. The Lord's blessings are there in your darkest times and there in times worth rejoicing in. Find that joy in the Lord and not the things of this world.
Isaiah 46:4
Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.
He is with us until we reach our ripe old age. He gives us life and breath each day to wake up and continue serving Him in this life. He has a blueprint of our being and knows us inside out. No one knows us better than the Lord our Creator. He is the author and finisher of our faith, the one who completes us. He rescues us from the toughest sin and challenges that we'll ever face. Things may not look good but God shines His light for us to see through the darkness.
The reminder: God knows you. He loves you. He fills you up. Use His resources to bless and serve others.
