Daniel 12

Daniel 12:3
Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, like the stars for ever and ever.

Those who are wise are those who think before they act, listen before they speak... they are the ones who do things with God-glorifying intentions and purpose. Those people will be shine like stars, and they will be bright among others. Small actions can speak loudly, especially if it seems to differ from the supposed norm of this world. I know that little things that I do with God in mind can reflect to others my faith and beliefs. The encouragement for myself is that this can't be a once in a while thing, but a lifestyle that is constantly changing to be more like one of Jesus.

Ultimately it's the Holy Spirit that causes hearts to change and warm up to Jesus, but the initially seed that is planted in people about God and His beautiful love is through us. Wherever we go is another opportunity to plant that seed. It's like the domino effect. When one plants and another grows from it, they too will share that seed of love to people around them. Working together as God's people is how this knowledge of Christ will spread to the ends of the earth.

Daniel 12:10
Many will be purified, made spotless and refined, but the wicked will continue to be wicked. None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand.

This walk is always a journey of sanctification. We are constantly being further molded into God's holy image and it will take longer than a lifetime for that to happen. However we get closer to that image each day as we are refined by the Holy Spirit and the community around us. The more we dig into the Word and listen to God, the more we will understand His character and truth.

It is said in the Word that the people of the Jewish nation will experience 1290 days of judgement. However those who perservere through the suffering and remain faithful until 1335 days are completed will be blessed. This is a trait that we need to instill in us. The walk isn't never easy, there are things that will push us down. How you respond to it will be a test of your faith. Will you get back up and continue praising God for what He's doing despite the pain and hurt you may be experiencing? Or will you break down and forget how God will get you through anything and everything?

Daniel 12:13
As for you, go your way till the end. You will rest, and then at the end of the days you will rise to receive your allotted inheritance.

I think this is a great verse to summarize the book of Daniel. Daniel was faithful and persevered through all the tough times he went through. God was with him at all times and He never doubted God's power and presence in Him. Daniel was rewarded on earth and will receive an even greater reward in heaven. This faith and character is what I also need to manifest.
