Future Glory: Romans 8:18-27

Lesson of the day: be patient while waiting for the day God takes us up into His kingdom and redeems our bodies so that we may truly become sons and daughters of God in Heaven.

Romans 8:23-25
Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, grow inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.

At the same time, God is able to help develop this Fruit of the Spirit called patience. Patience is such an important character trait, especially in this world where we have to tolerate or wait for different things. If we do have this trait, how can we call ourselves to be like Jesus... the one who established this beautiful quality? We wouldn't deserve to enter God's kingdom.

Romans 8:26
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.

The Holy Spirit will always be there for us in our times of weakness. It will convict each of us for something that we should be praying for. The Spirit will even help us be patient if needed. Always ask the Holy Spirit to fill you each day so that we can patiently wait for the future glory we will receive when the time comes. :)
