Isaiah 16:6-13

At the end of the chapter, the Lord spoke that like a servant under a contract, for three years Moab will lose its splendour and the people will be despised.

This clearly shows God's grace for His people. His wrath towards Moab could have lasted for as long as their lifetime, but He only says three years. From what I understand of this verse, it seems to say that within that time there can be a point of repentance and reconciliation. If they change and transform themselves to be one with a good character that is deemed righteous in God's eyes, it seems like God will end their punishment in three years.

The verse also mentions that her survivors will be very few and feeble. It's true. It's difficult and challenging to change from a lifestyle where God did not matter to one where you put Him at the centre. If you have faith in the Lord to guide and provide you, then it is a feat that can be overcome.

It's the same for us. We have a choice of either continuing living in our sin or we can fight against these evil temptations. If we do so and also surrender our life to the Lord in acknowledgement of his sovereignty and the salvation that He can give, God will not punish. Instead He will love you dearly and care for you. That's amazing and wonderful. He will spur you on. It's a race that we have to run to the end, no matter how tired or in pain we are.
