Isaiah 23:13- 24:13

After 70 years of desolation, the city of Tyre is brought back by the Lord. The city continues on with its business but her profit and earnings are now only for the Lord. It won't be kept for the people to spend themselves. The profits will be given to those who are faithful in the Lord.

It's so easy for us to hoard everything to ourselves when we are suppose to surrender our entire lives to Him.   God blesses us with shelter, food, clean water, a community, education... we so easily become selfish and greedy. Are we using these things that God has so graciously given us for His glory? Are we utilizing all the resources around us to be a witness to the people around us? All our achievements and earnings should be given back to the Lord.

I admit that it's hard for me to do so. To tithe 10% of my earnings from my job is a definite one. To think that God is going to take away my dream of becoming an optometrist to go into missions is another. There are so many insecurities and worries that follow with the idea that God has full control... but I know His plan for me is good. It's a hundred times better than what I planned for myself. I need to put my trust in Him.

I am not higher than anyone else just because I'm a Christ follower. I am still a sinner, with thoughts, actions, and behaviour that is not always pleasing to God. We are all on the same playing field. However, with the Holy Spirit we can be spiritually transformed to someone who's thoughts, actions and behaviour can become more aligned with that of Christ. Judgement by the Lord will be equal for all people.

Without the Lord, how could we have experience unconditional love, joy, peace, comfort? Through the Lord he helps us bear the Fruits of the Spirit. The Holy Spirit indeed gives me a filter to the world, knowing that there's hope and as long as I continue walking in the Lord, this life will be one that's blessed.
