Isaiah 9:8-12

We have no right to be arrogant or prideful in what we do. All things that are achieved in our life on Earth is due to His providence and grace in our life. When we reject this thought and are not humble, God will be just. He will punish and reprimand us until we learn our lesson.

This is exactly what happened when the people of Israel believed that they themselves can rebuild and replace the parts of the city. God is the one who gives them the strength, kindred spirits that are good for teamwork, and the materials for that yet these people did not realize. God punishes them by strengthening their enemies so that when Israel is defeated, they will know that they are not all powerful or strong as they think of themselves.

There are times when I too believe that I my successes come from myself, especially in terms of school: my hard work, endurance, studying, etc. I pray that this mentality changes permanently because God is the one who enables me to be diligent in my studies and is the one who gives me the perseverance and knowledge to do well in school.
